Josefina Terrera · Product-minded designer and frontend engineer

I turn complex ideas into clear, trustworthy web experiences.

I combine product judgment, design taste, and 10+ years of engineering experience to shape the message, interface, and implementation as one connected system.

Building is faster now.
Judgment matters more.

Tools can accelerate production. The harder work is understanding the problem, deciding what belongs, making thoughtful tradeoffs, and being accountable for the result. That is the work I bring to every project.

Selected work, from reasoning to result.

Each case study shows the problem, constraints, decisions, and finished experience, not just the final screens.

Earn trust in seconds Visitors decide fast. The site answers before they ask.
Attract the right inquiries Fewer tire-kickers, more of the jobs you actually want.
Get found locally Search and maps set up so your neighborhood can find you.
Keep earning after launch Fast, stable, and easy to update, not a time capsule.

From ambiguity to launch, I hold the thread.

Every project starts with the Website Snapshot. I review the business goal, the user’s needs, the design decisions, and the technical consequences, then identify what is getting in the way of trust or inquiries.

01 · LOOK

The Snapshot

I review what you have, or what’s still missing, and show you exactly where you’re losing potential customers. It’s free, with no obligation.

02 · PLAN

One page, one price

We define what I’m building, what it needs to say, and what it costs. One fixed price, without a 40-page proposal.

03 · BUILD

Design, copy, code

Design, copy, and code move forward together, with speed, accessibility, and long-term upkeep built in. Most projects take two to four weeks, and you see the progress along the way.

04 · LIVE

Launch, then support

After launch, I stay available for updates and refinements. When you email, you get a reply from the person who knows your site from start to finish.

Sound familiar? Four ways this usually starts

Site rescue "Something's broken and nobody knows how to fix it."
Search path "People search for what we do and find our competitors."
Signal map "The site is live, but nobody knows if it's working."
Brand fit "The business grew. The website stayed behind."

Engineer by training. Designer by practice. Responsible for the whole result.

I’ve spent more than a decade building for the web, from tightly regulated organizations with complex approval processes to small teams that make decisions in a day. I’m comfortable moving through ambiguity, explaining tradeoffs, and turning competing requirements into a clear path forward.

My work combines the taste to recognize what feels coherent with the engineering judgment to make it work under real conditions. That means accessible interfaces, maintainable code, thoughtful performance, clear communication, and fewer surprises between idea and launch.

Whether I’m working directly with a business owner or alongside a product team, I bring the same thing: close attention, honest recommendations, and ownership through the finish line.

I bring that same product-minded perspective to frontend and design engineering: thoughtful systems, strong collaboration, and care from the first question to the final detail.

"Josefina helped us explain what we do in a way customers understood. The process was organized, thoughtful, and much easier than past website projects."

The questions owners usually ask.

What does it cost?

One fixed number, quoted after the free Snapshot, before we start, in writing. No hourly billing, no surprises. If it’s not a fit for your budget, I’ll tell you on the first call.

How long does it take?

Most sites go live in 2-4 weeks. Rescues and small fixes can be much faster.

I already have a site. Can you help?

Even better: the Snapshot works on existing sites. Sometimes the answer is a rescue, not a rebuild, and I’ll tell you which.

Do I need to write the content?

No. You talk, I write. Copy is part of every build. It’s usually the part that was costing you customers.

Do I own it?

Yes: domain, content, code, everything. If we ever part ways, it all goes with you.

What languages do you work in?

Spanish and English, natively. Bilingual sites are a specialty, not an upcharge conversation.

Send me whatever you have.

No brief needed. Send me the long voice memo, the half-finished document, or a website you like as a reference. I’ll organize what you send, turn it into a concrete plan, and reply within one business day.
